Starting pay $30+/hrAvailable Shift: 2nd SummaryThis is an individual contributor position that performs all phases of production and is responsible for filling in for the shift lead person during their absence. This individual performs duties associated with the assigned shift, and assists the Shift Supervisor in ensuring employees have the tools and material they need to provide inspection and high quality Valmont products.
Essential Functions:
Ability to operate an overhead craneMakes, through proper training, program changes to robotic welders and understands the nuances of an automated welding system.Collaborate with department leadership to achieve continuous improvement and department goalsAssist with the training of others and complete appropriate paperworkProvide feedback and input to Supervisor about team performanceAct as back up for the shift lead and area employees when neededMaintain a productive working environment to manufacture high quality Valmont products in safe and efficient mannerThe ability to operate at least 2 manufacturing equipment such as trap shear, profiler, sub welder, brake press and cut to length equipment, plus the ability to adjust and operate robotic welders.Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the positionAbility to operate a forklift and overhead craneImportant Details

Minimum of 3 years of welding or machine operation experienceAbility to learn all Midsize functions and at operate least 2 pieces of the equipment, plus the ability to adjust and operate robotic weldersThe ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and blue printsThe ability to use a tape measureThe ability to pass a forklift driver’s testWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft OutlookKnowledge of and ability to use common shop mathematics, in feet, inches, degrees, and fractions, in reading complex prints, and standard specifications.Highly Qualified
Associate's degree or higher preferredExperience with the Midsize department or similar manufacturing machineryCurrently Welder C status or higherDemonstrated experience in a Utility role at Valmont Practical hands on experience in Lean ManufacturingMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsPrevious robotic welding experienceBenefits
