**Job Description**
A sheet metal fabrication company is seeking a skilled MIG/TIG welder. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding various aluminum, steel, and metals, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different welding techniques and equipment. The welder will also be responsible for reading blueprints, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the work area is safe and organized.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, stick, or other methods as required.
+ Weld metal parts and components based on specifications, blueprints, or work orders.
+ Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or welding symbols to determine the appropriate welding process and materials needed.
+ Select the appropriate materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) and welding consumables (rods, wires) based on job specifications.
+ Inspect and test welded joints for strength, durability, and precision.
+ Ensure welds meet industry standards and client requirements.
+ Operate welding machines, cutters, grinders, and other tools necessary for preparing materials, cleaning welds, and finishing the job.
+ Regularly inspect welding equipment and tools, perform routine maintenance, and report any malfunctioning machinery for repair.
+ Follow all safety protocols and procedures when working with welding equipment and hazardous materials.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize the risk of accidents.
+ Work closely with other team members, including machine operators and quality inspectors, to complete projects according to deadlines.
+ Perform repairs on defective parts and modify metal structures or products as needed.
+ Maintain records of completed work, including materials used, time spent on projects, and any issues encountered during the welding process.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).
+ Knowledge of welding symbols, blueprints, and schematics.
+ Ability to work with a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to inspect and test work for precision.
+ Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
+ Familiarity with machine shop tools and equipment (grinders, drills, cutting machines).
+ Basic understanding of safety regulations related to welding and working in a manufacturing environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or certification in welding is preferred).
+ Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder, MIG/TIG certification).
+ Experience with CNC machines or automated welding equipment.
+ Ability to work with a variety of welding techniques, including exotic metals or high-pressure systems.
+ Proven experience as a welder, ideally in a machine shop or industrial setting (minimum 2-3 years).

**Work Environment**
Works primarily in a machine shop or industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, face shields, and protective clothing is mandatory. The role may require standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials, and performing repetitive tasks. Shift work or overtime may be required to meet project deadlines or customer demands. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays, from 6 am – 2:30 pm, with flexibility for an hour before or after the shift.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Anaheim, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66560.00/yr.
