Key Responsibilities:

Set up and adjust welding equipment, including gases and consumables, to produce quality welds. Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on welding equipment as needed. Position fabricated components using jigs and fixtures and prepare surfaces for welding by grinding components. Execute various welding operations, such as stitch and tack welding, following blueprint specifications and weld symbols. Conduct quality control inspections and troubleshoot any weld quality issues. Clean welded components and perform rework if necessary. Collaborate with the engineering team on new product welding procedures. Fabricate component parts using metal fabrication equipment and perform setup and troubleshooting of this equipment. Inspect and measure fabricated components for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments. Accurately record work order information and inventory transactions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Three to five years of experience in a similar welding position. Proficiency in reading blueprints with weld symbols and specifications. Strong shop math skills with practical application of fractions and decimals. Ability to wear welding-specific personal protective equipment, including a helmet, gloves, and protective attire. Competency in operating grinders, deburring equipment, drill press, bandsaw, ironworker, and torch. Skill in performing standard measurements using various tools. Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills. Physical ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds independently. Capability to stand, stoop, bend, and reach regularly. Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed to meet production schedules.
