Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

This position is for a MIG Welder in a job shop fabrication facility. Candidates will be responsible for gathering their materials, steel, blueprints, work orders and performing strong welds with good visual quality to ensure they meet customer specifications.

ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine specifications of the job.Set up material, including sheet metal, tubing, and other forms of mild steel.Tack or set up welds using a MIG welder.Finalize everything with a MIG welder, ensuring clean and smooth beads.Use grinders, saws, polishers, hand tools, power tools, or other necessary equipment to prepare the job.Maintain and keep a clean work environment.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience as a MIG welder with the ability to fabricate in a job shop environment.Experience with steel or mild steel, material ranging from 1/16” up to ½”.Ability to read blueprints.Proficiency in using grinders, saws, polishers, hand tools, and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Work Environment

The medium-sized facility has ongoing metal fabrication and has recently invested in a state-of-the-art air quality cleaner, with plans for professional cleaning. There are 36 permanent employees, with expected growth. The main building houses raw materials, saw operations, robotic welders, multiple welding booths, press brake, laser cutting, manifold assembly, cleaning tanks, and a specialty area for hose testing.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
