Job Description
We are seeking a motivated MIG welder and skilled fabricator to join our team on the 1st shift. The role involves performing various types of welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel parts in both production and R&D environments. The ideal candidate will work with formal drawings, sketches, or concept development while maintaining high safety standards. This position requires the fabrication and welding of both production and new product prototypes safely and effectively using tools, assembly equipment, fixtures, and material handling equipment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform all types of welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel parts.Work with formal drawings, sketches, or concept development.Fabricate and weld both production and new product prototypes.Use tools, assembly equipment, fixtures, and material handling equipment effectively.Read and work with blueprints and sketches daily.Work with various power and manual tools, including a torch, hammer, tape measure, and all welding tools of the trade.Handle extreme weather conditions as some products can be placed outside/in cold shop to work on.Build and test new product prototypes, tooling, and fixtures.Design and test process improvements for increased performance and throughput in manufacturing.Essential Skills2-5 years of experience in a fabrication and welding environment.Ability to read and work with blueprints and sketches.Proficiency in MIG welding, grinding, assembly, tape measure, sheet metal, and flux core welding.Welding certificate, diploma, or degree highly preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs. if needed.Experience with various power and manual tools.Ability to handle extreme weather conditions.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Join a smaller team of 20-30 people working in multiple buildings on the same street in Davenport. The work environment can be darker and dirtier in certain places with some areas being run down. However, there is no micromanaging, and each welder has their own work to complete. This is not a production welding role, providing ample opportunity to learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
