Job Description
Our client is a leading supplier of abrasives, blasting, coating, safety, dust collection, abrasive vacuums, rental, safety, and water jet products throughout the US. They are looking for a motivated MIG welder and a skilled fabricator to join their team on the 1st shift. The role involves performing all types of welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel parts in both production and R&D environments. The successful candidate will work with formal drawings, sketches, or concept development while maintaining high safety standards. They will be capable of fabricating and welding both production and new product prototypes safely and effectively through the use of tools, assembly equipment, fixtures, and material handling equipment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform all types of welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel parts.Work with formal drawings, sketches, or concept development.Maintain high safety standards.Fabricate and weld both production and new product prototypes.Effectively use tools, assembly equipment, fixtures, and material handling equipment.Read and work with blueprints and sketches daily.Responsible for building and testing new product prototypes, tooling, and fixtures.Design and test process improvements for increased performance and throughput in manufacturing.Essential Skills2-5 years of experience in fabrication and welding environment minimum.Ability to read and work with blueprints and sketches.Proficiency in MIG welding, grinding, assembly, tape measure, sheet metal, and flux core welding.Welding certificate, diploma, or degree highly preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs. if needed.Experience working with various power and manual tools, including a torch, hammer, tape measure, and all welding tools of the trade.Ability to handle extreme weather conditions as some products may be placed outside or in a cold shop.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a smaller team of 20-30 people with a darker, dirtier environment in some places and a run-down building in others. The facility consists of multiple buildings located on the same street in Davenport. There is no micromanaging; each welder has their own work to complete. This is not production welding, offering numerous opportunities to learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
