Job Overview

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients.  In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Paramedic duties: providing on-site aid and transporting patients safely to medical facilities. Responsibilities may also include maintaining equipment, filing reports and transporting patients between hospitals.  A clinical technologist role that has specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience.

Location: Lowell General Hospital - 295 Varnum Avenue - Lowell, MA

Hours: 36 hours a week, various shifts, rotating. 

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of experience required

Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License

National Paramedic Certificate

ACLS, BLS, and PALS Certified

Preferred: Progressive responsibility in Mobile Integrated Health Program or at-home care setting

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 

Compliance with performance improvement clinical benchmarks

Avoids substantiated complaints regarding interpersonal conduct

Complete records and billing documentation

Avoid hazards, uses safety equipment; is safe.

Follows clinical protocols, plans and medical orders correctly

Maintains effective scene management/leadership; follows ICS

Demonstrates effective and positive teamwork and initiative during EMS operations, within the department and the EMS community

Works collaboratively and in a professional manner with all physicians, referring providers, allied health and public safety personnel.

Respond to patient’s urgent care needs and provide assessment, treatments and interface with appropriate clinicians in the patient’s home with the goal of avoiding unnecessary hospitalization.

Assist in emergency department. 

Participate in the discharge planning process of selected patients on inpatient units and in emergency department.

Performs home visits (scheduled, unscheduled, urgent), assessments and treatments according to MIH protocols and procedures.
