Military Analyst
Overview **This position is contingent upon award of contract** SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Military Analyst to serve as the Government’s trusted advisor to individual offices and to provide analysis and order of battle research to the contract. Essential Job Duties Provides research and analysis of regional insurgencies and construction of order of battles. Provides assistance to other analysts on the team. Minimum Requirements Active in scope TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required. Bachelor's degree in military history, political science, international relations, security studies, or other social science related discipline. (5 years of relevant work experience in analytic support to military analysis will be considered in lieu of a degree.) Two to five (2-5) years of relevant work experience, to include: Military-related research and analysis of country-specific conventional and strategic military forces. Experience searching classified and unclassified literature for ground, naval, and air forces information. Experience with constructing and maintaining an OB and with conducting analysis of military forces and operations. Demonstrated experience using various presentation formats such as maps, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and other reports to display results of analysis. Demonstrated experience updating and manipulating data using Microsoft-Office products (especially MS Excel). Proficient in working with and updating a webbased database system. Preferred Qualifications Experience or expertise in relevant country of focus. Experience with the Department of Defense order of battle information system known as the Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB). Basic familiarity with country-specific military terminology.
