Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership: Lead a design team through hardware and software redesigns through qualification to address obsolescence issues. Ensure that redesigns meet all performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.Obsolescence Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage the obsolescence of electronic control hardware components specific to the F110 engine. Identify potential obsolescence risks and develop mitigation plans.Lifecycle Analysis: Conduct lifecycle analysis of electronic hardware components to predict obsolescence and plan for replacements or redesigns. Maintain an up-to-date database of component lifecycles.Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to monitor component availability and identify alternative sources or replacement parts. Establish strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely communication of obsolescence issues.Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to evaluate the impact of obsolescence on system performance and reliability. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.Program Management: Manage obsolescence projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and schedule tracking. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for obsolescence-related issues. Communicate regularly with internal teams, customers, and regulatory bodies to provide updates on obsolescence status and mitigation plans.Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, obsolescence management plans, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance obsolescence management processes and methodologies. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. Share knowledge and expertise to build a strong, capable team.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 8 years of engineering program management experience preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electronic control hardware, software, components, and related technologies.Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of military standards and regulatory requirements related to electronic hardware components and systems.Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify root causes of obsolescence issues and develop effective solutions.Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.Project Management: Proven experience in project management, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and risk management. Strong organizational and time management skills.Software Skills: Familiarity with obsolescence management software and tools. Knowledge of data analysis tools and software is preferred.Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
