Within the SLA Division, the Undersea Technology Analysis Portfolio (UTAP) supports the Navy and other government organizations with timely and objective capability assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic planning that integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of undersea warfare (USW) and broader Navy issues.
SPA has an immediate need for a Military Operations Analyst.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will serve as a Red Team Analyst supporting a high-profile U.S. Navy client organization, focusing on the identification and assessment of challenges that could threaten client equities and interests. In this role, the candidate will work within a small team environment to collaborate on the development of thoroughly supported assessments for delivery to the client. As part of this position, the candidate will be required to execute substantial independent research and other work and maintain proactive engagement with the Team Lead and other Analysts as new insights are gained that impact the trajectory of the overarching assessment. The candidate will apply strong research and analytic skills to conduct extensive study of relevant materials and compile disparate items into slides and written products highlighting insights and implications for discrete Red Team studies. The candidate will apply critical and creative thinking to assess adversary strategies, intent, perspectives, activities, and capabilities and work with the Team Lead and remaining Red Team Analysts to understand threat capabilities and analyze the impact to client equities and interests. The candidate will work with the Team Lead to engage with stakeholder across the Department of Defense (DoD) and the intelligence community (IC) to gather new information and vet and validate team assessments.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant National Security field, such as political science, national security studies, international affairs, or military history or equivalent experienceDemonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis and generate defensible conclusions and meaningful recommendations. This work necessitates creative and forward-leaning thinking, often leveraging incomplete information, to develop concise, well-written analytic products to inform decision makingSelf-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities to work both independently as well as an effective contributor to small, collaborative teamsProven ability to use Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to perform data analysis and communicate to decision makersActive DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)Desired Qualifications:
