Military Program Manager
Job Description SummaryAt Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

Avio Aero is working with national and international partners to design and develop the power and propulsion system of a new military program.
Technology demonstrators will be delivered, with the aim to show the readiness of technologies to be used in the following development phase.
As Military Program Manager, you will report to the Military Advanced Program Manager and you will be the company focal point for the execution of the activities related to the demonstrators and he/she will coordinate all the involved functions to meet the program requirements.
Substantial part of the role will be the risk assessment and the risk mitigation on its perimeter.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities

Responsible for the execution of technology demonstrators plans, including coordination of the cross functional program team (ENG, GSC, QUA, etc.)

Support Military Advanced Program Manager to meet company financial/timing targets within the allocated budget

Manage technology demonstrators planning, assumptions and dependencies

Perform regular risk assessments and manage mitigation activities to address key risks for technology demonstrators

Lead the Program Control Board preparation for technology demonstrators related items.

Responsible for the Configuration control of technology demonstrators

Understand security requirements and related implications and be coordinated with Security and Compliance departments to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions

Support Military Advanced Program Manager in managing internal reporting to Senior Leadership

Support Military Advanced Program Manager in managing program whitelist

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering

Solid experience in project management, skilled in working and influencing a cross functional team in a matrix organization

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Ability to quickly respond to and manage project changes

Good aerospace industry knowledge and understanding of the Defence environment

Good in developing a network and influence stakeholders

Ability to lead a cross functional team, both on-site and remotely

Good risk management and problem solving skills

Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external organizations

Prompt communication and sense of urgency

Ability to document, plan, and execute established projects

Ability to manage finance indicators

Fluent written and spoken English

Availability to travel as needed to support the business

Eligible to be security cleared by the Italian National Security Authority (security concerns that can lead to a determination of ineligibility are listed in art. 37 DPCM 6 November 2015 n.5)”

Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
