This Systems Engineering team directly impacts the GE Aerospace mission by driving the holistic strategic plan for the Engine Level Model including closure on safety issues, engine configuration, airframe integration requirements aligned to customer airworthiness qualification, maintenance plan, field investigation and test objectives, sustaining product & growth strategies, while inventing next generation engine platforms through sustainable technology insertions.

About this Position
The Military Systems Engineering Staff Engineer will report to the Cincinnati based Military Field Integration & Testing (FIT) Systems Engineering Sub-Section Manager and be responsible for supporting development and production testing for the large combat and trainer engines. In this role you will work closely with design, product line leadership, product support and field service engineers as well as the USAF and foreign military allies around the world to solve challenging field problems to support customers objectives and warfighters around the world.

Job DescriptionRoles & Responsibilities

As a Military Systems Engineering Staff Engineer, you will:

Execute, with limited guidance assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product & program requirements

Lead the engineering aspects of development engine testing programs.

Provide technical support for safety risk assessments

Provide troubleshooting expertise and tech data interpretation for test operations

Establish plans and coordinate activities of multi-disciplined teams to achieve technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments

Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

Maintain broad awareness of efforts within section to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs

Participate as a presenter or reviewer for internal/external technical and program reviews

Be a key participate/owner in developing and executing customer funded improvement programs

Assure proper documentation of technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Mentor and coach colleagues with less experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college

A minimum of 8 years of experience in an Aerospace or Mechanical engineering role or equivalent experience

Desired Characteristics

Master's degree from an accredited university or college

10+ years of experience in an aviation engineering environment working in the area of engine structure design and/or systems/test support

Strong leadership, facilitation, and collaboration skills

Keen listener and innate drive to succeed

Established program management skills

Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams

Interest in being a self-starter with an eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutions

Strong technical PC aptitude and demonstrated acumen with various digital tools
