Milk Planner and Production Scheduler

We have an exciting opportunity for a Milk Planner and Production Scheduler to join our team at the Balclutha site. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping the production lines running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. You will create timely short-term production plans in collaboration with the Balclutha Planning Manager, place purchase orders for packaging materials, and optimize inventory levels for raw and packaging materials. Additionally, you will manage the milk supply to the site and ensure the plan optimizes the usage of milk. This role involves coordinating deliveries, finalizing consumption, and validating recipes before production. You will report every morning at SIM 3 about the next 72 hours production plan and potential risks.

 

This is a 6 motnh fixed-term, full-time position.

 

You will:

Assist with producing a master production schedule (0-3 weeks horizon) to meet demand and capacity.Ensure milk volumes on site are controlled to execute the production schedule.Communicate the production plan effectively to the business.Control the short-term production plan to meet the plant’s capacity.Place planned and confirmed production orders in SAP.Manage the delivery of all raw materials and packaging materials in conjunction with the Materials Planner.Place purchase orders to suppliers for oil and AMF packaging, ensuring inventory targets are met.Manage batch allocation updates and organize materials on site accordingly.Maintain accurate production-related master data in line with the Master Data Controller.Communicate effectively with all functions within the business.Manage milk sales and swaps with other milk companies as per milk agreements and the production schedule.Communicate all milk sales and swaps effectively to the business and external parties.

Ideally, you will have:

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent.A minimum of 2 years of supply chain experience within the FMCG or pharmaceutical industry.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills at all levels.Self-initiative and good follow-through.Strong planning, organizing, coordination, delegation, control, integrity, and decisiveness skills.The ability to risk assess and make appropriate decisions.High levels of skill and expertise in data analysis.High levels of accuracy and integrity.Experience with ERP/MRP systems (ideally SAP) within a production planning environment.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
