**Job Summary:**
Prepares, portions, and delivers human milk and formula for patient feedings using aseptic technique per recipe or registered dietitian instruction. Labels and dates all formula/food products per formula room policy.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Communicates with patient treatment team members regarding human milk and formula orders.
+ Uses clinical information systems to update patient human milk and formula orders and recipes, print labels, and generate production lists.
+ Reports discrepancies in feeding orders to treatment team and/or manager.
+ Unpacks, labels, and stores human milk and donor milk. Completes daily donor milk lot number logs.
+ Maintains adequate inventory of feeding preparation room supplies and rotates supplies using first-in-first-out (FIFO) method.
+ Maintains clean and orderly workspace, ensuring department standards are met, and all sanitary activities are conducted in accordance with federal, state and local health regulations.
+ Maintains clean equipment and cleans small wares in three compartment sink or dishwasher.
+ Keeps daily sanitation and refrigerator/freezer temperature logs.
+ Participates in department and hospital quality improvement activities.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
+ High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Constant standing and walking.
+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
+ Frequent reaching and gripping.
+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
+ Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
+ Frequent use of smell and taste to distinguish differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors, or recognizing particular flavors and/or odors.
+ Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
+ Occasional keyboard use/data entry.
+ Occasional driving.
