Career Opportunity:
As a Mill Engineering Development Program Participant, you are responsible for providing technical expertise and support for various departments of the organization. You will be involved in managing technical projects aimed at product and process problem solving and/or improvements, cost reduction, and profitability improvement. Provide technical assistance to the operating departments to help them achieve the mill’s goals and objectives. Activities may involve various branches of the engineering profession, for example: electrical, environmental, mechanical, chemical, reliability, or maintenance engineering.
This program consists of learning the front and back of the mill where you work. Designed to explore different engineering functions and aspects, preparing you for future roles.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Design, construct, test and operate equipment, ensuring standards of quality, cost safety, reliability, timeliness and performance are met in production process, interpreting plans, drawings and specification.Assist in troubleshooting problems and teaching others how to react Assist in the planning and completion of production projects Administratively track any trials, changes and continual production information Assist in organizing and implementing any changes or trials Make daily checks of production output and contributing factors Promote daily safety communications while helping ensure a clean environment Responding to customer complaints offering corrective actions Maintain communications with customers while helping correct problems
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year college or university in engineering
