**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines, including both mill and lathe machines. This role involves working in a job shop environment with very large CNC machines, where you will perform tooling changes every shift, read blueprints, and use measuring tools to ensure precision. You will work with G&M codes, edit programs at the machine using MasterCAM and Solidworks, and occasionally use manual machines and grinders as needed. The materials you will work with include low carbon and alloy tool steels. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate various CNC machines, including mill and lathe machines. + Perform tooling changes every shift. + Read blueprints and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. + Maintain tolerances of +/- 0.001. + Work with G&M codes and edit programs using MasterCAM and Solidworks. + Utilize manual machines and grinders as needed. + Operate machines including Okuma and Fanuc. + Handle materials such as low carbon and alloy tool steels. **Essential Skills** + 6-8 years of CNC machining experience. + Experience setting up machines and performing tooling changes. + Ability to complete program edits using G&M codes. + Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. + Ability to read blueprints. + Experience in a job shop environment, not production machining. + Capability to lift 50 pounds. + Experience holding tolerances of +/- 0.001. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with MasterCAM or Solidworks. + Experience operating both mill and lathe machines. **Why Work Here?** Join a team with excellent employee tenure and opportunities for growth. Work in a historic building with a strong sense of community and no time clocks, operating on an honor system. **Work Environment** We offer three shifts: First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday), Second Shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Friday) with shift premiums, and Third Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday – Thursday) with shift premiums. The job environment includes working with large CNC machines in an older building with a lot of history. All tools are provided, and there is an emphasis on custom machine creation for various industries.
