Mill Machinist
**Hiring Mill Machinist ($25-32/HR)** **Job Description:** Become part of our dynamic Day Shift team as a CNC Mill Set-up Technician. If you have intermediate to journeyman-level experience in CNC mill machining, this role is perfect for you. We're searching for someone who is process-focused, has a strong sense of urgency, and is adaptable. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring we meet deadlines and maintain our high-quality standards. **What you’ll do:** + Perform short-run, precision CNC machining, and handle 1st runs. + Set up and operate CNC and machining centers, including vertical and horizontal milling, turning centers, and multi-axis machines. + Manage mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes with minimal supervision. + Optimize cycle times and machine performance in collaboration with the Programming and Manufacturing Manager. + Guide and instruct other machine operators and machinists. + Request program changes when necessary. + Study CAD drawings, models, blueprints, and documentation to prep for machining operations. + Load/unload CNC programs, set up work holding fixtures, and align cutting tools. + Ensure machine settings are accurate and make adjustments as needed. + Provide feedback to improve Programming Department processes. + Measure and document in-process inspection data using calibrated equipment. + Submit 1st Piece Article for inspection before continuing production. + Log operations in the ERP system and sign off on job traveler operations. + Maintain machine coolants, lubricants, and other fluids. + Work collaboratively with other departments to improve production. **What you bring:** + Intermediate or journeyman-level experience in CNC mill machining. + Experience with vertical and horizontal milling machines. + Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machining equipment. + Ability to read CAD drawings, blueprints, and specifications. + Strong understanding of machining processes and setup requirements. + Knowledge of G&M codes and CNC programming. + Experience with Mazak, Fanuc, and Mastercam systems. **Bonus skills:** + Experience with 5-axis CNC mills. + Knowledge of Renishaw probe systems. + Experience with Mazak CNCs is a plus. **Why join us?** Work in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest CNC technology. We’re expanding to include a clean room and QC area. You’ll work day shifts with a team of 5 programmers and machinists, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. **Job Type & Location:** **This is a Contract-to-Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.** **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
