GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision of a road crew, performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to road building and maintenance of road building equipment and facilities. DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITES: + Maintain constant awareness of ongoing operations in your surrounding aware while safely and efficiently completing required physical tasks + Tasks may include, but are not limited to jack hammering, shoveling, cleaning, traffic control or assisting with any other milling operation related task + Must be able to follow instructions and have a good work ethic + Have the ability and willingness to learn new things + Able to work various shifts (Day/Night), overtime and weekends. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects + The ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a day to day basis; + The ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detail + The ability to stand for long periods of time.
