**Job Title: Woodworking Technician** **Job Description** Join our custom woodworking team specializing in crafting beautiful commercial interiors for various industries including hospitality, athletics, corporate, education, entertainment, food service, government, and healthcare. We seek a skilled Woodworking Technician with a passion for carpentry and craftsmanship. **Responsibilities** + Combine, incorporate, and work with different wood and materials. + Meet project/product standards and specifications daily. + Use advanced tools and equipment to produce wood products. + Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and/or clamps. + Cut wood to the right size and shape and trim parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files. + Shape and assemble parts based on blueprints, drawings, and written instructions. + Measure and mark dimensions of parts prior to cutting. + Set up and operate machines including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers to cut, mold, and shape wood. + Trim, sand, and scrape surfaces and joints to prepare articles for finishing. + Verify dimensions and check quality and fit of pieces. + Program computers to operate machinery. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of carpentry, finish carpentry, and/or woodworking experience. + Ability to use basic hand tools and read a tape measure. + Proficiency in carpentry, woodworking (cut, shape, and assemble parts for wood products). + Blueprint reading. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1+ year of construction experience. + 6+ months of painting, staining, and varnish knowledge and/or experience. **Why Work Here?** As a family business with over 100 members, we value our conservative roots and humble beginnings, which have defined us for over 50 years. While the environment can get dusty at times, there is a break room with vending machines and tables for relaxation. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
