Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the EAF Melt Area. Works closely with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Millwrights, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals. Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.
Responsibilities Assist shift and day millwrights with preventative maintenance, rounds, and breakdowns. Maintain a safe work environment. Good communication skills with an ability to work in a team environment. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and repairs. React to emergency breakdowns. Perform other tasks as needed. QualificationsRequired:
• Excellent safety and attendance record
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience
• Print reading
• Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and general knowledge of how equipment works
• General EAF knowledge a plus
Preferred:
• A basic understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and electromechanical equipment that will aid in troubleshooting with the EAF electrical maintenance team
• Understanding of hydraulics, grease systems, and pneumatics
• Fabrication skills that include torching, welding, and blueprint reading
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft office applications
• General Fabrication Skills (Welding/Grinding/Torching)
