Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the EAF Melt Area. Works closely with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Mill Techs, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals. Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.
Responsibilities Maintain a safe work environment. Good communication skills with the ability to work within a team environment. Operating mobile equipment, troubleshooting and repairing systems: Fluid power systems, mechanical power transmission systems, water systems, pneumatic systems, material handling systems, etc. Ability to communicate with onsite contractors. This position requires a strong ability to lead and perform repairs to the Melt Shop equipment. QualificationsRequired:
• A basic understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and electromechanical equipment that will aid in troubleshooting with the EAF electrical maintenance team
• Understanding of hydraulics, grease systems, and pneumatics
• Excellent safety and attendance record
• Leadership skills and able to make decisions and calls quickly
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience
• Print reading
• General Fabrication Skills (Welding/Grinding/Torching)
• General EAF knowledge a plus
Preferred:
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft office applications
• Alignment, Rigging a plus
• Technical training and certifications
• Data reading via iba
