Job Description
The Red Seal Millwright will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installations, preventative maintenance at a PVC pipe manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, BC. The shift pattern includes working 12-hour shifts, rotating every two weeks between days (8am-8pm) and nights (8pm-8am). Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday. This position offers a wage of $45+ per hour for qualified candidates holding their Red Seal Millwright certification.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.Repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.Install, assemble, test, and maintain equipment.Use hand and power tools, scissor/boom lifts, and lift trucks.Test electrical systems using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety.Work with equipment rated up to 600V.Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and help improve the schedule.Pre-flight production lines prior to start-up as per schedule.Follow safety procedures.Update preventive maintenance in CMMS (eMaint).Essential SkillsRed Seal certification.2-5+ years of industrial experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility.2-5+ years of repair and maintenance experience in a heavy industrial facility.Ability to work rotating shifts and 12-hour shifts.Ability to read and interpret layout drawings and blueprints.Additional Skills & QualificationsWelding and machining experience is an asset.Extrusion manufacturing experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is unionized, very hands-on with lifting, bending, and reaching. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. You will use hand tools, power tools, scissor/boom lifts, and lift trucks. Typical day activities include team meetings, handover from the previous shift, maintenance issues, urgent repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, working with parts and purchasing to get parts ordered, documenting work in the system, and handing over to the next shift. You will work with various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment such as extrusion machines, cyclones, exhaust systems, silos, puller-tractor devices, saws, belling equipment, grinders, plant systems (compressors, chillers), blending equipment, mixers, dust extraction equipment, conveyors, and water systems (pumps, cooling power equipment). The culture is team-oriented with a buddy system. You will be working with 8 trades individuals, and when the team is full, it will consist of 4 electricians and 4 millwrights. The dress code includes coveralls, PPE such as safety glasses and hearing protection, and steel-toe work boots. The shift pattern includes working 12-hour shifts, rotating every two weeks between days (8 am – 8 pm) and nights (8 pm – 8 am). Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
