Mine Engineer / Geologist

What you will do:

Work closely with Site Engineering and our ETC teams on a broad range of underground mining and technical projects to support our Potash Operations Involvement in research, data gathering and analysis Report and document preparation Coordination of site and external resources as projects demand Project management Mine design and planning, including supporting the rollout of integrated planning and scheduling software Mine ventilation Aid in the development of mine process models Review, compilation and validation of data related to mine processes Shaft design Ground control Rock mechanics Inflow management This job will consist of both office (Saskatoon) and field work at the various Nutrien mine sites. Some travel will be required

 

What you will bring:

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geological Sciences (or equivalent) from an accredited university Must hold a professional designation (P. Geo, P. Eng) Minimum 4 years of engineering work experience required Experience in potash mining and an understanding of mining operations is considered an asset Good oral and written communication and presentation skills Demonstrate positive safety behavior and safety leadership Strong analytical and computer skills Ability to work with colleagues in a team environment or independently Ability and willingness to learn new skills Strong organization skills with the ability to adapt to sudden changes in work demands Must have the ability and be comfortable with working in an underground mining environment Mine Planning experience is considered an asset Mine Ventilation experience is considered an asset
