Position summary: Responsible for preventive maintenance, repair, and general housekeeping for all mine equipment machinery and facilities to maintain a safe work area. Provide manual assistance to assigned projects. Pay Range:This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Level I:$22.81 - $34.38 per hour / Grade 44 Level II:$25.10 - $37.50 per hour / Grade 45 Level III:$28.05 - $42.12 per hour / Grade 46 Reporting Relationship:Maintenance Supervisor Location: Gillette, Wyoming Essential Functions: • Safely complete all requirements of the WRD Maintenance Technician and maintain satisfactory job performance. • Perform mechanical and preventive maintenance on all mine equipment. Perform basic welding as assigned. • Communicate with supervisor on the operating conditions and other pertinent information of assigned work areas and vehicles. • Perform start-up, operation, monitoring, shut-down and tag-out of maintenance vehicle (welding truck, pickup, forklift, lube truck etc.). • Be familiar with mine equipment operating limits, parameters, operating procedures and systems and perform corrective actions if limits are exceeded. • Communicate daily with production personnel on the operating condition of any vehicle/equipment being serviced or repaired. • Daily provide to oncoming maintenance shift verbally and written communication on the status of pending and ongoing maintenance projects. • Complete all required computer and paperwork. Additional Responsibilities: • Assist other mine personnel or job tasks as directed. What Is Required: All Levels: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to obtain MSHA certification within 90 days of hire. Level I: • Minimum of 2 years of mechanic/maintenance experience or combination of experience and relevant technical schooling. Level II: • Minimum of 3 years of mechanic/maintenance experience or combination of experience and relevant technical schooling. Level III: • Minimum of 4 years of mechanic/maintenance experience or combination of experience and relevant technical schooling. What is Desired: • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with individuals and small groups of employees. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to make decisions, monitor and evaluate mobile mine equipment systems. • Read and interpret maintenance and technical manuals and parts books to complete work assignment. Identify and order parts through warehouse system. • Read and use low-voltage electric, air and hydraulic schematics and be able to perform basic troubleshooting on these systems.
