/*generated inline style */ Job DescriptionResult driven, innovative, and creative Automation Programmer. The primary focus is to develop SCADA solutions using PLCs and the Ignition SCADA platform. Scope will include the system controls and data acquisition from many types of machinery such as heat treat ovens, foundry systems, autoclaves, wax presses, etc. The Ignition platform is based on Python and Java programming languages so adequate skills on these platforms are required. Secondarily, working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, functionality, and integration is recommended. Understanding of relational database theory and architecture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for Process Control, ERP integration, data collection systems, and miscellaneous process control applications developed and maintained by MIS.Design and troubleshoot existing process control systems.Engineer, design and test electrical, instrumentation and automation systems associated with industrial manufacturing plants.PLC/HMI hardware/software design, programming, and troubleshooting. (Knowledge of Ignition SCADA package a plus.)Software development experience in a structured environment including Testing, Version Control, Release Management.Develop and engineer electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC logic.Work with Div Networking Group to implement process network infrastructure (Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net, etc.).Interface and communicate with vendors, process engineering, installation contractors and project management.Specify and procure controls hardware and field instrumentation.Work with DBA’s to persist process data collected from various systems (Oracle/SQL server development / SQL skills a plus.Compliance and enforcement of company, safety, environmental, governmental policies and regulations as they apply.Understand and assist in application of company safety procedures, Lock & Tag, and Arc FlashDevelops strategies and programs that improve the productivity, quality, and efficiency of equipment and process of the company Dialogs with operations, engineering, and plant staff regarding equipment manufacturing capabilities relating to production schedules to facilitate efficient production processes and reduction of processing cycle time. Key Competencies:
Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic, programming methods, and process related control systems. (Allen Bradley Micro Logix, RS Logix 500 and Control Logix Platforms) Ability to design/enhance HMI applications. Ability to examine complex electrical problems, identify source of problems, determine method for repair; plan and organize work; complete complex electrical tasks by using and understanding Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings and schematics. Knowledge of automation (PLC) and electrical system design, diagnosis and operation. Strong experience in plant commissioning and start-up. Hours of operation and employee schedules vary based off each project and may require irregular or extended hour and travel for project completion. Could include international travel. Able to communicate effectively with employees in a professional and friendly manner. Able to work independently as a productive member of a team. Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under minimal supervision.
