The Opportunity:
KBR Defence and Technology Solutions, is a leader in Defence Mission Planning System development and integration. D&TS uniquely couple’s aviation mission planning environments, operational and engineering support, training, agile software development, and systems implementation, enhancing current Defence capabilities while designing the future military Mission Planning Environments.
The Mission Planning Systems Mission IT and Security Network Operations Technician will be working on technology for the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence.
KBR D&TS is currently looking for a highly driven Technical specialist to join an agile network development team working on technology for the deployment of secure systems in support of Defence for the Mobile Mission Planning Environment (M-MPE) required for both current and future Australian Defence Force capabilities.
The M-MPE Network Operations Technician will apply their skills for the development, integration, and deployment of security accredited ICT systems. As part of a pro-active, hands-on technical team, you will work closely with other technical staff and key client stakeholders to provide IT technical and administration support for the MPS and ICT systems used and supported by KBR, including Mission Planning Systems and software for the Australian Defence Force.
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
Technical support to the development, introduction to service, sustainment and evolution of software and hardware, data, tools and processes in fixed and deployed environments for ADF mission planning systems.
Technical support to the development of solutions to resolve issues with data support for MPS.
Maintenance of physical server and networking hardware
Develop, manage, and maintain systems configuration for MPS laptops.
Installing, configuring, testing and deploying software.
Provide effective support to ensure all mission systems are working and meet the operational needs of users
Provide support on Defence strategic networks
Technical support to the security and accreditation of MPS
Identifying and managing program and technical risks and issues within the support to operations scope.
Reviewing, verifying, and improving documentation produced in support of MPS development and sustainment.

Essential:
Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE)
MS Windows Imaging
MS Windows security
MS Windows Server Platforms
Technical/Admin level experience with client operating systems from MS Windows 10 – 11
MS Windows Office products
Software Scripting
Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements
Desirable:
Working knowledge of Aviation Mission Planning and knowledge of AC-C2CS environment
Layer 2/3 Networking
Technical/Admin level experience with Linux client operating systems
Experience in software development environments.
Database development experience using SQL Server
Advanced Office Computing Application knowledge in Win10/11, Excel, Word, Access & XML
Software testing, including unit testing
Hyper-V
VMware/VSphere
Intel McAfee EPO Suite
Geospatial data experience
Recovery/Backup Tools
