Make a Real Difference - Axient is seeking a sharp, motivated intermediate level Test Engineer to support Wargames and Exercises mission engineering and execution for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Directorate of Test (DT). Your typical day – Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities on Schriever Space Force Base (SFB). Schriever SFB is located just east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado is certainly a hub of missile and space operations, research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts – military, government civilians, and contractors from Axient and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems.

 

What you will do... Position Overview/Tasks:

This position serves as a Mission Engineer providing direct support to the Missile Defense Agency Directorate of Test, Wargames and Exercises Division (MDA/DTW). Tasks will include:

Performs all event integration based on requirements from the Mission Director and Event LeadSupports development/integration of the blue force laydown, voice and data communications, specific operational software versions or capabilitiesDrafts and publishes the network architectural drawings and test plans to ensure the event architecture meets the requirements defined by the Combatant Command and MDA subject matter experts; translates customer requirements into architecture capabilitiesPerforms as Functional Director of integration activities defined within the test planAssists modeling and simulation development teams in the design and implementation of model behaviors within the simulation architecture; work products include SV-1, SV-2, communications diagrams, floor plans, rack elevations, test plans, event reports and problem reportsCoordinates testing results; obtains assistance identifying new requirements, problems, and fixes for simulations resulting from Chief Engineer analysis/testing Skills you will need... Required Education/Experience:Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field7 years of recent relevant experienceEligibility to obtain at least a Secret security clearanceExperience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirementsProficient with the MS Office suite of toolsCapable of providing test engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for developmental and operational weapon system programs during developmental and operational test events, including flight, HWIL, and operational environmentsCapable of working as a team member to solve engineering problemsPossesses general technical and theoretical knowledge of the DoD principles of developmental and operational testing and the verification and validation activities of the engineering “V”, system test and integration, strategic planning, and/or process improvementsWorks as a member of team to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problemsHas a basic knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topicsMust be willing to travel up to 30% of the time
