MIV Project Manager

What is the role about? 

Endress+Hauser’s Main Instrument Vendor (MIV) program was created to combine our world-class instruments with value-added project services and apply them to our client’s most challenging projects. The MIV Project Manager position requires an experienced project manager comfortable managing large and complex project ecosystems including internal and external teams along with Endress+Hauser production centers and 3rd party vendors. This includes striving for execution of client projects with an on-time and within/under budget target.    

Which tasks will you perform? 

Serve as the project lead for Endress+Hauser covering products and value-added services around a client’s instrumentation and valve list through a project lifecycle. Act as the client’s trusted partner and be single point of contact through the project life cycle, connecting the customer with the subject matter experts within Endress+Hauser, our partners and suppliers.  Adherence to harmonized Professional Project Execution practices (PMI, Agile, E+H Standard 201) to ensure utmost client satisfaction as well as predictable, reliable results.  Leverage industry and project management experience to deliver a unique and complex customer solution. Employ disciplined scope management and a commitment to change logs, change management practices, and securing of change orders if/when scope changes occur. This applies to both product and services with all critical stakeholders involved during the project execution lifecycle. Identification and maintenance of a risk register is also expected to identify and feed change and risk mitigation. Project time management including proactive communication to internal and external stakeholders.  Commitment to schedule optimization and risk management/mitigation internally and externally.  Resource allocation and time management with commitment to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.  Plan, coordinate, and lead internal steering meetings with the E+H organization and our Rep Partners on the project’s progress, risks, revenue, and costs.  Involvement in mentorship initiatives to support the development of colleagues as expertise in the role grows.   

What do we expect from you? 

You will have (required): 

Bachelor’s degree in any field of study, technical field preferred.  Minimum 5 years of Industry experience of complex project execution.  Travel required: occasional for customer kick off meetings and visits to Greenwood, IN (US headquarters), Pearland, TX or other E+H/Rep Partner offices. (~10% travel).  

You may have (preferred): 

Ability and Agility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.  Ability to pull together and manage a cross-functional team to cover service deliverables including engineering, reporting, procurement, warehousing, and inspection as well as remove barriers from the team to accomplish their tasks.  Ensures that the customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities.  Excellent ability to leverage reports and analyze data to drive results.  Knowledge of commercial related issues such as pricing, terms, and conditions.  Familiarity with heavy industrial applications.  Experience working with Engineering and Procurement Companies (EPC).  Familiarity with instrumentation and valves. Understanding of capital expenditure (CapEx) project lifecycles, barriers, and standards of operation for large client projects (total installation cost $500MM+) Project management certifications (PMP, 6-sigma, Agile, etc.)
