Mixing & Blending Operator

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Mixing and Blending Operator in our Garland, TX Plant.

 

Job Summary

The Mixing and Blending Operator will be responsible for set up, operate, or tend machines to proportionately mix and blend emulsion materials containing chemicals, powders, liquids, pigments, etc.  Adding and/or or mixing chemicals or ingredients for processing using steam, air, and hydraulics. Maintaining and cleaning the equipment.  Tending and operating accessory equipment, such as pumps or conveyors, to move materials or ingredients through production processes. Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools.  Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing, using forklift, hand tools, or other devices.

 

Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, must be able to work until 6:00 pm on some days

Starting Pay: $20.51

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements. Compound or process ingredients or dyes, according to formulas. Read work orders to determine production specifications or information. Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Mix or blend ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times. Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment. Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing. Operate or tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of materials. Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices. Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained and open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Reliable with proven record of attendance Good verbal and written communication skills Mechanical/Technical aptitude preferred. Propane forklift operation preferred

Education and Experience:

Prior manufacturing experience in a team-based industrial work environment High school diploma or GED equivalent

Working Conditions:

 

Activities occur inside a building materials manufacturing facility Temperatures exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures

Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points  Noise of industrial machinery Typically 40 hour per week with overtime as required Fast paced operation
