Job Summary and Mission
This position contributes to success of Roastery & Reserve by being a global brand ambassador, through beer, wine, and craft cocktail service. Master sculptors of liquid craft, they honor ingredients & process with every pour. Pioneers of beverage innovation, bartenders meticulously fuse craft cocktails together by thoughtfully spotlighting Reserve coffees. By showcasing their passion for service and commitment to craft, bartenders bring the Roastery & Reserve Experience uniquely to life. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks Prepares alcohol and/or non-alcohol beverages for bar customers Demonstrates calm demeanor and ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, and during periods of high volume or unusual events. Delivers exceptional customer service to all customers leading with customer connection and seeking to discover and respond to customer needs Serves as mixology expert and shares the story of mixology and Princi to provide exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items including ideal pairings Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails according to recipes Peel, slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages Manages service of alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company and brand and policies and standards Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security Contributes to positive team environment. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctualityBasic Qualifications
Experience in the service industry (i.e. restaurant, bar, or hospitality) Experience working as a bartender Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language 21+ years of age Valid WSLCB Class 12 Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Permit (MAST Permit) Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysPreferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of standard drink recipes Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishments Working knowledge of bar equipment Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks High attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to multitask and prioritize is essential Strong ability to create a sophisticated, once in a lifetime immersive experience through storytelling, entertaining, and engaging customers while operating equipment Additional languages beneficial. *If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
