Your role and responsibilitiesThe Motion 2.0 Transformation Program aims at enabling the business divisions to pursue their strategies through integrated end-to-end processes, information availability and better customer experience. The Motion ERP using S/4HANA technology will serve as an architectural foundation to be fit for purpose for the targeted end-to-end digitalization of our business value chain processes.A sustainable IS solution architecture of the ERP platform itself respectively how ERP integrates in the bigger platform and application landscape of Motion’s business divisions and ABB is essential to enable the transformation and later optimization of use the ERP platform. The primary role of the MO SAP S/4 Solution Architect is to establish a common way of working across the functional areas and ensuring architecture, data and integration standards are defined and applied, such that the solution meets business needs and is reliable, maintainable, compliant and auditable.One main challenge of the role is through collaboration across functional expert teams and IS solution architects to make sure that ERP platform is optimally utilized from a fit to standard perspective. This includes both platform internal integrated up- and downstream processes respectively the integration with processes running in/across interfaced S/4HANA ERP applications and non-ERP applications. A second main challenge is to assess and understand the ERP solution migration & transformation challenges from a current state use to the future architecture. The right approach and attitude to problems solving, analysis and effective stakeholder collaboration are some of the key elements required in this role.The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybridThis role is open globally, but location is preferably set in ABB MO lead countries and major locations closer to the European time zone such as Finland, Switzerland, Poland, Spain and India. Willingness to travel is required (can periodically be >50%).You will be mainly accountable for:Own up the process for review and validation of design, approval and sign-off technical & solution to be implemented in productionDefines and owns the overall IS platform architecture including its technical components, modules and integration to S/4HANA technology extensions. Keep the target solution architecture up-to-date including documentation of roadmap change impacts of the solution in the wider architecture. Collaborate with IS architects and other IS solutions architects ensuring the exchange of solution roadmaps to enable proactive management of dependencies & risks whilst evolving the digitalization maturity of the architecture.Communicate standard S/4HANA platform enhancements to ensure that the functional leads/process experts are trained on the latest solution features. Stay on top of S/4HANA technology roadmap and best practices used in other industries, benchmarking the MO solution including taking the lead for MO functional requirements towards SAPSupport IS Functional Leads to decide where & how requirements can be covered by available standards functionalities vs. a customization approach. Support validation of business and functional requirements together with Process Owners/experts, IS Business & Functional Analyst and Technical Leads to ensure right allocation of processes to respective applications.
Qualifications for the roleGood business acumen in understanding business use of application functionalities to support processes and enable end-to-end integrationExperience of working with large company wide/cross business ERP implementations, managing change impacts and dependencies. Both SAP ECC & S/4HANA application lifecycle management competence. IT management experience in a complex, global IS organization10+ years IT experience as Functional Analyst across several SAP functional modules/applications and Solution Architect (technical/SAP basis experience is an advantage) IS solution expertise in other technologies integrating with ERP support distinct business processes is a plus (e.g. PLM, sales tools, CRM, etc…..)Fluency in English is a must, other languages are beneficialGood at networking and building report with variety of stakeholders Communication skills: ability to influence through solution & process competence building confidence in e.g. new functional designs.
