Position Summary This position is responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining mobile equipment. The Heavy equipment Mechanic would also be responsible for the safe operation of a DOT regulated service truck, as well as personal DOT compliance. Inspection, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs of on and off highway equipment will need to be performed at a world class level under minimal supervision.This is a second shift position, Monday – Friday, April until the end of November. From December until the end of March it would be a first shift position. 2nd Shift will run 10-12 hours with a flexible start time of 1PM. 1st shift start times range from 5AM to 6AM and would also be a 10-12-hour shift. 1st shift will be required for a training period at the time of hire. There is no guarantee of overtime, and some 40 hour weeks will be mandated with as much notice as possible.Responsibilities Performs various roles, including preventative maintenance inspections and oil/filter changes, greasing, minor equipment repairs, housekeeping and various other shop dutiesMaximizes performance of equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis Opportunity to perform complex and advanced type diagnosis/repairs without constant supervision Utilizes electrical and pressure testing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards Conducts MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work area Operates other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as neededMay become a mentor, who trains and provides technical advice to less experienced staff regarding maintenance repairs and safety proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor Will operate a DOT regulated service truck under 26,000 pounds. We are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.40 - $33.45, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
