Mobile Facility Technician

Job Description Summary

Supports the Assistant/Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in maintaining, repairing, and operating building systems to ensure safe, efficient functionality.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair:

Perform routine and emergency maintenance for HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boilers, pumps, and refrigeration systems.

Conduct repairs for walls, flooring, lighting, and roofing.

Maintain sanitary systems, elevators, kitchen equipment, and building automation systems.

Preventive Maintenance:

Execute scheduled inspections and recommend improvements to systems and protocols.

Reduce downtime through proactive repairs and maintaining equipment records.

General Repairs:

Minor plumbing, electrical, lighting, furniture, and floor repairs.

Replace lamps, filters, and fire extinguishers.

Reporting & Compliance:

Submit operational reports and ensure compliance with codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Emergency Response:

Address urgent issues and client callbacks, including after-hours and weekend support.

Vehicle Management:

Maintain and document company-assigned vehicle for mobile tasks.

Key Relationships

External: Collaborate with clients, client staff, and vendors.

Internal: Work closely with the Assistant/Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.

Experience: 4+ years in building engineering, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Certifications:

Valid driver’s license.

Relevant trade license(s) as required by location.

EPA Universal Certification for refrigerants (CFC and HFC).

Skills & Abilities

Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and energy management.

Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Prolonged periods of driving between locations.

Environment:

Exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials.

Work indoors and outdoors under varying conditions.

Scheduling & Availability

Business hours with potential for on-call shifts, overtime, and extended periods during emergencies.
