Mobile Field Logistics Specialist

The Mobile Field Logistics Specialist functions is a critical component of Smith+Nephew’s overall US Supply Chain strategy. We are the last mile and the difference between success and failure in thousands of hospitals and surgery centers every single day, where our customers are helping their patients improve their lives. It can and will be stressful, but it is rewarding knowing that you played a critical part in the positive outcome for a patient whose life is being restored through our products. You will maintain accurate inventory records of products as they flow through the territory. Accountability of products missing from sets is essential to ensure accurate billings. You will be responsible for case coverage, inventory management, and analyzing data.

Mobile Field Logistics Specialist is an on-site member of the Logistics Team in a territory sales office(s). This role schedules, prepares, and ensures delivery of instruments and implant sets for surgery in the territory. This role is also responsible for coordinating surgery schedules, preparing, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of instruments and implants sets for surgery. A working knowledge of company products, operating system, and procedures is essential.

What will you be doing?

Performs work duties accomplishing daily goals, including but not limited to, the picking of Finished Goods, packing of Finished Goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, sourcing cases, and overcommunication to the sales reps.Process all required order entry to maintain and manage scheduled surgery cases daily.Perform all required and reporting to measure accuracy, utilization and validations while coordinating Mobile Logistics and shipment schedules daily to ensure most efficient delivery methods are being used.Multi-tasking and working under pressure are strengths needed. High stress at times during the day while balancing multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Each case “implants and instruments” we send out the door from our operations goes straight to the operating room.Good housekeeping in all warehouse areas. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, and meeting daily shipping requirements, by properly following warehouse protocols and processes.Required to perform on call support as required.Must be flexible with role and helping teammates when needed, driving a company van at times when needed and asked upon.Understand and perform the functions and procedures pertaining to the efficient operation of warehousing.Assist during physical inventories and/or field cycle counts ensuring the office inventory PI preparation is performed.Perform daily/period freight activity reviews on all FedEx and courier usage to ensure costing is correct and most economical.Learn our software Systems such as Move Medical and SAP used daily.Train and direct other personnel in their duties, both clerical and physical.

What will you need to be successful?

High school Diploma or equivalency required.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in a related field (e.g. Operations, Logistics, Business Analyst, Business Consultant).Lift 75 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling commonly occurring for long periods of time.Must have a Valid Driver's License with clean record.Standout Colleague: Be available for occasional on-call shift, work within a team, taking charge when needed, and be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
