UPMC Hamot is hiring a Mobility Technician to join 7 South Oncology! Make a difference in patient care and become part of our great team! This position is full-time, Monday-Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm. **Overview:** The Mobility Tech is responsible for routine patient mobilization within their assigned departments, following established policies and procedures. Under the direction of an interdisciplinary team (Nurse, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and Physician), they help mobilize patients by walking them in the hall, assisting them to chairs for meals, using lifts for bed-bound patients, monitoring vital signs, applying telemetry, and assisting with basic needs like filling water pitchers, restroom assistance, and setting up meal trays. _Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience._ **Responsibilities:** + Suggests and supports changes within the unit, handles assignments responsibly, and views problems as challenges. + Develops and maintains productive relationships, communicates effectively, and collaborates with various departments and staff. + Provides patient care, including assisting with ambulation and collaborating with Rehabilitation Services and Nursing Staff. + Ensures safety and compliance by adhering to policies, reporting equipment issues, and following hospital procedures. + Engages in professional development by participating in self-review, seeking feedback, and improving skills and knowledge. + Contributes to unit activities, documents tasks, and communicates with RNs regarding patient conditions. + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Good communication skills. + Displays excellent customer service skills. Basic computer knowledge. + This position typically reports to Transport Supervisor. May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients.
