Mobility Technician-2

The Mobility Technician performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, stocking and supplying procurement, and a variety of basic clerical functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of patient care work experience in a health care facility preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case-by-case basis).  BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

-Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles

-Demonstrates independence and exercises judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team, patients and their families.

-Displays strong time management skills.

-Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including but not limited to organizing workflows and actively participating in problem-solving.

-Demonstrates ability to access information both in the department and within the hospital system to support the department and interprofessional health care team as appropriate.

-Possesses competent computer knowledge. Operates multiple computer systems including electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) to maintain patient information.

Physical Requirements: Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
