JOB SUMMARY
Work Shift: 7 days on, 7 days off Wednesday - Tuesday. 8:00 pm - 6:00 am.
Work 70 hours in a pay period but get paid for 80, plus great night time shift differentials!
The Modality Technologist is responsible for the performance of a minimum of two modalities with registration in one modality. This could include, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, CT, Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound. This individual may be assigned to work primarily in one modality and be back up for the second modality, and may also perform bone densitometry exams or mammography. The Modality Technologist assists radiologists in reviewing exams and procedures, and performs a variety of technical procedures to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. This individual is accountable for participating in continuing education, quality improvement, problem solving, productivity enhancement, and participating in the on call schedule.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Successful completion of Radiologic Technology Program.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Two years of Radiography experience, ARDMS, Mammography, MRI and/or ultrasound registry.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and current Wisconsin Licensed Radiographer License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
