Summary You will serve as a Model Maker in the Training Support Shops (TSS) of the Engineering Department at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center. Responsibilities You will set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathers, shapers, boring mills, planners, etc. You will fabricate, install, test, modify, and repair a variety of different types of complex assemblies or various major component parts made of ferrous and nonferrous metals and metal alloys. You will follow blueprints, sketches, or oral information that indicates the design data that is required to achieve specific test applications. You will design and manufacture necessary jigs, fixtures, special tooling, securing devices, etc. to accomplish assigned work. You will be required to use precision measuring equipment to verify accuracy of work utilizing micrometers, indicators, and sophisticated mechanical and electronic equipment.
