The Model Maker II will work with various composite and 3D printed materials and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. The Model Maker II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

As a Model Maker II, you will be responsible for:

Surfacing and fitting components for dimensionally accurate assembliesPerforming body work, priming, and painting with various methodsUsing blueprints, drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD), and verbal directions to create models according to established specificationsUsing precision measuring instrumentsLaminating with epoxy resins and carbon compositesOperating shop equipment, including bridgeport, lathe, and MIG welder, and performing preventive maintenanceInterfacing with engineering and cross functional teams to meet product requirements and customer acceptanceNotifying appropriate personnel of problems or potential problems related to machine operationParticipating in daily shop organization and clean-up

To be considered as a Model Maker II, you will need:

High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of experience in prototypingMechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipmentGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamHas own tools with toolboxAbility to read, comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions.

A successful candidate may also have:

Certificate in Autobody, Automotive Technology or related fieldValid driver’s licenseAbility to work overtime as needed including weekends
