Where is the work:
Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
Develop 1D steady-state and transient component and system models for refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and other sub-systems for HVAC&R products.Improve, standardize, and maintain existing in-house component and system models for various HVAC&R applications.Stay updated with the latest advancements in modeling and simulation technologies and apply them to improve existing tools and processes.Provide technical support and training to team members on the use of modeling and simulation applications.Become familiar with Trane Technologies HVAC products, including Residential A/Cs and Heat Pumps, Commercial Chillers, Rooftops, Air Handler products, and Thermo King Transport products.Collaborate with systems engineering teams to integrate modeling and simulation tools into the product development process.Understand lab test methods and model validation processes.Work closely with team members, cross-functional associates, and internal customers to gather requirements, provide updates/reports, and generate training documentation.Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects, including presentations to stakeholders.
What you will bring:
Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience.1-3 years of experience in HVAC&R product design and modeling.Experience with applied computing applications for modeling and simulation, such as Dymola, MATLAB\\Simulink, GT Suite, and related tools.Expertise in thermal sciences (thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics), preferably gained from experience with HVAC&R components and systems.Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and application is a plus.Experience with system and component design optimization methodologies.Programming experience with Fortan, C/C++, Python, Modelica, M-code and similar for understanding and maintaining existing code and developing new capability in modern languages.Proficiency with GitHub or other hosting platforms is a plus.Exposure to model-based design (MBD) and model-based system engineering (MBSE) process and tools is a plusAgile project management skills are highly preferred..
Compensation:
Base Salary: $82,000 - $109,000
