Modernization Mechanical Engineer
**Date Posted:** 2024-10-25 **Country:** United States of America **Location:** OT325: NSP - BLOOMFIELD, CT 212 WEST NEWBERRY RD, BLOOMFIELD, CT, 06002 USA The Modernization Mechanical Engineer will be a versatile position with responsibilities for processing bid reviews and project management responsibilities for modernization escalator projects in NAA. Other responsibilities involve specifying, ordering, and troubleshooting hydraulic elevator projects in NAA. This individual will work under the guidance of senior engineers in the modernization mechanical engineering group located at the Otis Service Center. **Job Description:** + Provide escalator feasibility reviews for modernization estimates. + Responsible for interpreting bid specs and responding to field questions in an effective & timely manner + Knowledge of code requirements to perform escalator design and drafting for project execution. + Facilitate ordering and shipping of executed project materials. + Responsibility to identify & resolve technical issues in the design and implementation of escalator and hydraulic elevator projects. + Work closely with senior engineers to ensure that the business objectives are implemented and achieved. + Reviewing and placing orders for hydraulic elevator power unit replacements. **Experience/Qualifications** + 3+ years of engineering and project management experience. + Demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. + Self-directed with excellent practices, processes and procedures. + Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments + Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize to meet customer lead-times. + Engineering experience with escalator modernization/repair/installation. + Ability to work with suppliers/3rd parties. + CAD tools (AutoCAD required & CREO preferred) + Working knowledge of Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) **Education** + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline required. + Master's Degree preferred **Perks & Benefits** + We offer a 401(k) plan with a generous company match and an automatic retirement contribution for your future financial security from day one of your employment, you and your eligible dependents will receive comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. + Enjoy three weeks of paid vacation, along with paid company holidays + We provide paid sick leave, employee assistance, and wellness incentive programs to support your well-being. + Life insurance and disability coverage to protect you and your family. +  Voluntary benefits, including options for legal, pet, home, and auto insurance. + We offer generous birth/adoption and parental leave benefits, as well as adoption assistance, to support growing families. + Pursue your educational goals with our tuition reimbursement program. + Recognize and be recognized! We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
