General Summary:
Qualcomm Technologies is seeking an experienced Module Assembly (Supplier Quality Engineering) Manager to join our team at Hsinchu, Taiwan. The candidate should possess expertise in terms of Module assembly/manufacturing processes, testing and quality controls. The candidate will also take the responsibility to make sure the module assembly and testing process can meet the requirements defined by Qualcomm from product development stage and drive the continuous improvement in the mass production stage. Excellent English oral and written communication skills are vital to this role since the candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders from various departments internally and suppliers across different global locations. The role requires periodic travel to suppliers and other company locations.
Key responsibilities
Working with package development engineering team and supplier sourcing team on the supplier selection processRisk assessment and qualification for both product and process of module and its components suppliers and also subassembly level manufacturer.Quality plan definition, alignment and execution for the suppliers and subassembly level manufacturer which includes PFMEA, control plan, CTQ (Critical to Quality) processes, correlated inspection and testing between suppliers and subassembly level manufacturer, and monitoring plans, quality reporting, traceability, etc.Process audit and monitoring manufacturing processes for improvementLeading for quality problem solving and yield improvement for the Module assembly process as well as the associated component suppliers.Proactive quality monitoring set up at supplier sites for the purchased material in supplier factories.Analyze defect trends, defect modeling and lead continuous improvement programs with suppliers.Serve as primary escalation point for supplier related quality issues, hereunder driving actions plans for resolution.Support change management processes for supplier-initiated changesQualification and Skills
Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, or other relevant fieldsAt least 8 years of hand-on working experience in the high volume Module industry experience; especially for Automotive (Electronics) is required.Understanding of cleanroom environment, ESD controlFamiliar with quality standards such as IATF16949, ISO16262, VDA 6.3, and frequently used quality tools such as DOE, APQP, PPAP, SA, SPC, FMEA, SPC, 8D & Six SigmaRich experience of handling internal, external and customer quality audit from Automotive group of companies.Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to solve quality problems and meet customer requirements and satisfaction.Fluent in English (oral and written)Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
