Job Description

Position Overview:

Technician sets up molds and cycle into specifications within a reasonable amount of time. Additionally, maintains all operations in a safe and efficient way and to ensure acceptable quality and production requirements.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:  

1.    Repair and rework existing molds: 
• Troubleshoot, evaluate and rework existing Injection and Blow molding tools. 
• Manage repairs/rebuilds using in-house resources • Assemble / disassemble injection and Blow molds 
2.    Preventative Maintenance: 
• Manage Preventative Maintenance projects using in-house staff. • Use First Shot/Last Shot process to evaluate mold condition, needed PMs. 
• Wire hot runners, hot sprues, thermocouples in addition to replace hot runner components 
• Injection and Blow Mold preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, polishing 
3.    Be able to set up molds and cycle into specifications within a reasonable amount of time.
4.    Know duties of service technician (Material Handler): a.) different types of material, b.) How to mix material, c.) Automatic color benders
5.    Quality Control: a.) distinguish different defects b.) Know the different dimensions.
6.    Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems of machines, have enough knowledge to troubleshoot minor problems.
7.    Understand materials and cycles so as to explain why different materials require different cycles.
8.    Make proper adjustments to machines when ware is not running into specs.
9.    Know proper way to shut down and start up machines.
10.    Assists in maintaining GMP within the plant, including housekeeping on assigned production lines.
11.    Have basic knowledge of all secondary equipment: a.) Set up flaming line, b.) Mold heaters, c.) Trouble shoot minor problems.
12.    Train and assist other production operators and know the duties performed by the Service Technician.
13.    Performs attribute inspections.
14.    Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
15.    Support Production/Documentation.
16.    Maintain up to date the asset report sheet.
17.    Maintain track and correct the active cavitation below 0.03%
18.    Work overtime when needed, vacation coverage and set up when needed.
19.    Clean and maintain the machines as required.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma 

Experience: 5 years’ work experience in related field.

Specific Knowledge: Must be familiar with plastic molding and troubleshooting machines.
