Summary: Weigh out, assemble, and transport materials for each molding cycle by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Follow all company established safety and employment rules.
• Identify and use correct materials per the mold charge sheet.
• Clean and “soap” molds after each cycle (heat).
• Visually check mold pressures and temperatures for maintenance malfunctions.
• Move molded shoes from the press to the cleaning table or conveyor.
• De-flash excess material from molded slabs and shoes.
• Remove bars from slabs properly place slabs into saw.
• Visually inspect shoes for defects and notify QA of defects.
• Perform required thickness checks of shoes.
• Place finished shoes in correct storage boxes.
• Report all machine and maintenance problems immediately.
• Follow all 5S procedures including standard work
• Record production and quality information.
• Regular on-site attendance is required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing and respiratory protection are required in certain areas of the plant and by job assignment.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to:


• Stand at Mold Line which consists of 4 to 5 presses.
• Walk approximately 60 feet at 34 heats per shift, for a distance of approximately 1,980 feet per shift.
• Fill and stack on a cart 4 to 5 pans of materials weighing 35 pounds each at 34 heats per shift. This is then repeated for a total lifted of approximately 6,562 pounds per shift.
• Collect 5 stacks of plates weighing 8 pounds per stack per 34 heats for a total lifted of approximately 1360 pounds per shift.
• Pull each slab weighing 60 pounds out of the Press from waist height and place on a cart. The Press is then reloaded manually. Move cart to a cleaning table and unload slab onto the cleaning table. There are 5 slabs per heat for a total of 10,200 pounds lifted per shift.
