About this Role

The Molding Process Engineer position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it’s important to keep it running efficiently and continuously.  The Molding Process Engineer position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high quality injection molded product. The work to increase the effectiveness of injection-molding processes in the manufacturing field. Here’s a list of duties that our Accounts Payable Associate performs on a typical day:

Primary responsibilities:

Lead Injection molding process development projects from concept to production handover. Assure injection mold process’ and related equipment meet the needs of internal and external customers.  Provide timelines, and regular project updates. Control all cost, delivery, and quality objectivesDevelop Injection molding process’ for mold tools as required using scientific methods and disciplined documentation practicesPrepare all injection molding equipment for new projects.  Work with tooling and automation Engineers to ensure that injection molding machines and all peripheral equipment required for new injection mold tools are available and are properly sized for the project.Execute PQ’s for new molded components and collect data for PQ reportsComplete PQ reports to transfer products into ongoing productionProvide daily production support to the molding operation using statistical analysis. Prepare requests for project funding and monitor spending against budget through completion of the projectLeads continuous improvement efforts within the value stream to realize improved cavitation, cycle time, improved quality, and reduced scrap.Ability to build talent in hourly workforceAble to identify improvement areas, draft improvement plan and execute the plan.Research and develop new manufacturing processes.Ensure quality output of molded components.Design necessary components.Execute and analyze Mold Flow Reports to determine root cause issues on existing molds and to drive improvement in cycle time and part fill quality.

Education/Experience:

Four (4) year degree in engineering preferred with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Injection Molding Process.Willingness to travel domestically & internationallyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping capabilityExcellent prioritization and organizational skills in order to manage multiple responsibilities with little to no supervision.High level of initiative and flexibility in adapting to changing needs of a dynamic work environmentProficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelMaster Molder / RJG Qualification preferred.

Physical requirements:

Lifting is required frequently throughout the shift.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. un-assistedOther physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling & pushing, stooping & crouching, color determination, grasping, reaching, speaking and listening.

Pay Range: $77,000 - $96,000
