**Job Title: Molding Process Technician**
**Job Description**
Effectively perform the functions of setup, operation, and process of thermoplastic and TPE rubber injection molding and compression molding machines. Assist the department manager and lead process technician with oversight and guidance to the Molding department employees to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, safely, on time, and in accordance with customer specifications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install molds, including cooling, robotics, auxiliary equipment, and material in accordance with established criteria.
+ Start up molding machines per established cycles and complete first article approvals documentation.
+ Ensure proper material usage per documentation to minimize scrap and rejects or submit requests for adjustments.
+ Ensure adherence to process standards (cycles, etc.) and efficiencies.
+ Adjust process and troubleshoot molding issues as needed within set guidelines to ensure product quality and standard process efficiencies are maintained.
+ Ensure accurate reporting of daily production, scrap, downtime, and efficiencies.
+ Communicate tooling, process, machine, quality, and schedule issues/opportunities with other shifts and associated responsible parties to optimize efficiencies, resource utilization, on-time delivery, and product quality.
+ Seek advice and make decisions for solving production and technical problems.
+ Remove molds at the completion of the run and prepare for storage or repair. Clean work area in preparation for the next job, perform line clearance.
+ Review work centers for proper equipment operation, setups, and raw materials.
+ Ensure the safety, order, and cleanliness of the department.
+ Report all mold, machine, or equipment problems to the proper personnel for review and correction. Take immediate action regarding any unsafe conditions as they arise.
+ Provide operator assistance and training.
+ Perform other duties as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ High School education or GED.
+ 3 - 5 years of related experience in an injection molding environment.
+ Ability to interpret documents such as reports, correspondence, multi-level instructions, procedures, and requirements.
+ Experience performing Injection Molding Machine setup and production run.
+ Experience working with Injection Molding Machine auxiliary equipment like dryers and blowers.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Supervisory experience.
+ RJG or equivalent scientific molding certificate.

**Work Environment**
Work is performed in a well-lighted, air-conditioned, light manufacturing environment. The noise level is low. This is a 1st shift position, but the employee may need to cover 3rd shift for a short time while the 3rd shift process technician is on leave. 1st shift hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 3:30 pm, Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm. 3rd shift hours: Monday-Thursday 11 pm to 7:30 am, Friday 10 pm to 6 am.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
