Responsibilities Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.Start up machines and monitor quality at start up.Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.Respond to QA Techs by making adjustments to machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.Oversee proper packaging procedures.Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures.Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.Be able to do the Packer/Handler job to assist with relief breaks.Assist with Material Handling as needed. Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc.).Maintain a safe working environment.Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.Will at times directly supervise/manages others. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints by taking to supervisor to resolve problems. Cover for the supervisor in his/her absence. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required.Prior injection molding experience is required.Must be mechanically adept.Self-starter with eagerness to learn and take initiative.Must be a team player with the ability to communicate effectively with others.Ability to bend and lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly.Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain production levels.Able to take direction and work with minimal supervision.Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
