**Title:** Molding Technician
**Location:** Round Rock (100% onsite)
**Schedule:** Monday- Friday 12pm-8:30pm (full time)
**Pay Rate:** $25-$35 an hour (based on experience)
**Job Summary:**
1. Job Start Up: Ensure end to end start up procedure is followed, from last good part to first good part, overseeing all elements related to a job start up (Tool and Insert Staged (ready), Material Ready, Auxiliary Support Equipment, Secondary Operation Equipment, Gages/fixtures/Etc, partial inventory staging, part qualification, Operator training acknowledgment.
2. New Product Introduction: Facilitate Mold Trials, in coordination with Manufacturing Engineer, for new product introduction. Assist in design of experiments, testing, material handling, measuring outputs, and recording all input/output for creation of technology.
**3) Production Monitoring and Optimization:** Monitor scrap rates and secondary operation constraints with respect to lifecycle products. Measure and record production process outputs (mold, machine, method, materials, manpower) and develop statistically driven models for process capability studies and optimization to improve productivity, safety, quality and/or cost. quarterly, or as needed, review production data by family or part level and summarize through pareto to focus continuous improvement efforts in highest.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ The Process Technician will set up and approve processes for scheduled production on plastic injection-molding machines.
+ Sets machine controls and regulates/monitors molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure and time, according to standard molding procedures and company-based practices.
+ Ensures correct & approved materials are being used for production by referencing WO BOM.
+ Establishes, maintains and measures the set points & process outputs to produce a quality part at the approved optimum cycle.
+ Maintain quality parts according to approved cycle time, control plan, part print dimensions and validates date stamp.
+ Routinely inspects products once released for production.
+ Electronically records process inputs & outputs in order to produce a repeatable and transferable process, and to enable optimizations and value engineering
+ Responsible for New Product/Process Development and working alongside Quality Department to facilitate PPAP Process.
+ Runs material testing trials for alternate/secondary resin approval process. Report all findings and observations
+ Signs off on Production Articles for production staff to use as aesthetic/quality reference in accordance with approved First Article at start up.
+ Collects/Retains Samples to be submitted to customers for FAI and Approval in accordance with QA Department.
+ Retain/label samples from “last untrimmed shots” before mold changes
+ Ensures all aspects related to operating supplies, work instructions, packaging, drilling operations, and poke yokes are in place before releasing production approval.
+ Documents all scrap produced at Start Up/Color Change.
+ Monitors Scrap Rates throughout production or at conclusion of job, generating mold performance reports and pareto data to help guide/focus improvement plans
+ Ensures Scheduled Production Work Orders are started in Mattec in before beginning production.
+ Ability to calculate & mix material blend ratios as needed for testing/production.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve plastic injection molding defects within capability of tool.
+ Effectively communicate processing/tool capability concerns with management.
+ Leads as an example for production staff and assists in staff training and development.
+ Assists Quality Departments in auditing all Operational Processes pertinent to Assured Quality & FFF of product.
+ Ability to conduct and record Preventative Maintenance on Molds in production.
+ Works collaborative with Tooling/Set Up Department to ensure all Molds are Labeled with ID Numbers, Utility, and Auxiliary Equipment Information.’
+ Update Tooling Tracker status.
+ Other duties as may be directed by supervisors.
+ Performs additional duties / tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

**Qualifications:**
+ Education: High School diploma/GED is required
+ Experience: 3+ years of Experience in the fields of: Manufacturing, Molding, Process Technician
+ Knowledge of Scientific Molding Principles and RJG Courses: Master Molder Preferred
+ Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Regular exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and warm working temperatures
+ Must be able to walk behind machines; i.e. in narrow places
**Essential Functions:**
+ Ability to see objects clearly at a close distance (3 Feet or less). Corrective lenses permissible.
+ Ability to see clearly objects at a distance (50 feet or more); Corrective lenses permissible.
+ Ability to distinguish between and among colors; i.e. red flashing light. Ability to exercise depth perception to determine space and distance relationships. Ability to exercise peripheral vision to be aware of objects within a large area while eyes are focused on
+ Ability to hear in one or both ears so that verbal communication can be received, understood and acted upon either face to face or over an overhead paging systems.
+ Ability of olfactory nerves to distinguish between and among odors and scents as to origin and level of intensity, and to tolerate potentially obnoxious smells.
+ Ability to control and utilize fingers in a dexterous and coordinated manner for such activities as writing, typing, keyboarding, trimming parts, packings, labeling, operating equipment etc.
+ Ability to use body parts on a regular and continuing basis to repeat the same motions between breaks and / or over the course of the shift without resting; i.e. standing on feet, or using muscles, fingers, hands, arms, elbows, legs, knees, back and neck.
+ Ability to grasp, hold, set down, redirect with hands or fingers, turn, control and manipulate parts, objects and boxes.
+ Ability to stretch body and extend arms to place or secure parts and objects at a distance above, to the side of, or below the normal standing level of the individual.
+ Ability to exert a reasonable paced mobility from one point to another within generally accepted time frame, and recognizing the conditions of the environment as to narrowness, clutter, slickness, etc.
+ Ability to move and control one's torso so items can be picked up from the floor or from a lower surface level without Durable Medical Equipment.
+ Ability to flex legs at the knees and move the upper body forward and down without DME.
+ Ability to flex legs at the knees to lower body position without DME.
+ Ability to flex legs at the knee so that individual can lower the body coming to rest on one or both knees and crawl without use of DME.
+ Ability to use body parts, usually arms and hands (occasionally shoulders and back) to elevate an object weighing more than 50 lbs. above its previous surface level.
+ Ability to ascend steps, ladders and other vertical and semi-vertical surfaces to reach a higher level.
**Pay Details:** $25.00 to $35.00 per hour
