Description

Position Summary

Directly responsible for monitoring, documenting and reporting of ECG rate and rhythms of each patient on the Telemetry unit or patients being monitored “off-site”. Directly responsible to notify the appropriate license staff member regarding the current cardiac rhythm and significant cardiac rhythm changes of each monitoring patient.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education

High School Diploma/ GED

Required Licenses/Certifications

Nursing Assistant Certification preferredRegistry with TDH preferredSuccessful completion of a basic arrhythmia course (within 3 months of hire)Current BLS for health care providers

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.Competent skills in WordPerfect and Windows
