Sentara is currently hiring a Monitor Technician!

This is a Full Time position with Day shift hours and great benefits!
Position is located in Suffolk, VA

 
Job Requirements:

High School Grad or EquivalentPreferred: EKG/Monitor Tech - 1 yearCompletion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire. Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire. Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course. To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrythmia exam.

As a Monitor Tech you will observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Monitor Techs are responsible for promptly notifying appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias and operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Monitor Techs ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
